St\u00e9phanie Berland,<\/a> Partner and Head of IP-IT \/ Data & Media Department at Steering Legal, was invited to talk at the\u00a0<\/span>International Screen Institute<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u201cBusiness and Legal Affairs 2023\u201d course in Vienna, attended by film and audiovisual industry executives to deepen their knowledge of legal issues of the sector.<\/span><\/p>\n

St\u00e9phanie spoke on contracts and legal issues in the development phase, with the \u201cAcquisition of rights on original scripts and existing literary works<\/b>\u201d and the \u201cNegotiation of underlying works<\/b>\u201c in view of producing a film or TV series project. This presentation was part of 5-day course organized by the Screen Institute, a non-profit organization providing top value legal training for European and international film and TV creatives and executives.<\/span><\/p>\n

The course included participants and speakers from 13 European jurisdictions, and aims to give practical knowledge, confidence and understanding of the various business and legal aspects of film and TV contracts and their negotiation. It\u00a0<\/span>has been funded by the \u201cCreative Europe MEDIA\u201d Sub-program of the European Union.<\/span><\/p>\n
